Welcome! +detailed info

We are moving from Toronto to Vancouver at the beginning of May, 2011 and need to sell our stuff before then.

We will be holding a moving sale in the front yard at 58 Pearson Ave on April 30, 2011 (rain date: May 1, 2011) from 12pm to 5pm.

Pick-ups for specific items can also be done on the evening of Friday, April 29 or the morning of Saturday, April 30, if you would rather not wait for the sale.

We'll be posting some of the larger pieces here in advance, but also come on the day of because there will be many things that we can't possibly list individually, e.g. lots of DVDs, books, cookware, a blender, etc.

Email for more details or to arrange pickup:

Come to our sale, and bring your friends!

All-cotton queen futon, $70

Futon is ~5" thick, made with cotton batting, very heavy and comfortable. Was $250 when new. Has some stains from having been moved multiple times between multiple cities, but hey, that's why we have sheets, right?

Pick up on May 1.

Vintage leather & wood desk chair, $100

The white spots are from the camera, not the chair!

Not much to say about these -- they're very beautiful old chairs in excellent condition, comfiest office chairs I've ever used. Wheeled part can unscrew for easier moving. I am loathe to part with these, but moving across the country calls for it...

Asking $200 for the pair.

One chair left. We are asking $100 for it.

Used only twice. Roller blading is just not for me.

Comes with a full set of lol-protective equipment. $35.

Some MAC make-up.

Petit gloss in "Glaze" and "Plum parfait". Never used, never even opened. $8 each.
See-thru lip colour in "Rose de sheer". Never used. $8.
Mineralize Skinfinish in "Shimpagne". $25.
Mineralize Skinfinish in "Lightscapade". Used twice. $30.

Corsets

For sale are three steel-boned corsets:

22" black silk satin overbust by Puimond, $250
23.5" black pinstripe underbust by Volancia, $225
25" underbust (with bust-coverage), $125

All three were new when I bought then, and unfortunately I haven't worn any more than a handful of times....

A note about the photos: corsets always skew leftward on me. That's my own asymetry, not the corsets'!

La Patrie "Étude" classical acoustic guitar, $275

From the Long & McQuade web site:

The Etude is the most popular model in the La Patrie lineup. The Etudes specifications match those of the Motif but with a full size body. Incredibly responsive thanks to the feather-light Custom Polished finish, this guitar features great dynamic range along with the harmonically rich sound that you usually find in a guitar several times the price.

Back & Sides : Wild Cherry
Neck : Mahogany
Top : Cedar (Pressure Tested Solid Top)
Fingerboard & Bridge : Rosewood
Finish : Semi-Gloss Custom Polished Finish
Tusq nut & saddle by Graphtech

On a more personal note, this guitar certainly delivers a much better sound than its price would imply. It is also a very easy guitar to learn on. Comes with soft case and a capo. Asking $275.

Razer Lycosa gaming keyboard, $45

Razer Lycosa programmable gaming keyboard. Bought 6 months ago and in excellent condition. No driver CD, but drivers are easily found on the Razer web site.

Here is Razer's spiel on the keyboard.

Retails for $80 +tax at Canada Computers. Asking $45.

(Mostly) Vintage dresses & coat, sizes 6-10

I'm downsizing my wardrobe too, for the move, and selling off some hoarded vintage dresses (and one very beautiful wool coat). Because I'm in a hurry to sell everything before the move, everything is $15, unless otherwise labelled -- a steal, as some of these would easily go for upwards of $100 at a place like Cabaret (and in fact, some of them were bought for upwards of $100 at Cabaret).

A note on sizing: I have given my best estimate as to what their sizes would be today. They're probably labelled with a different size, if they're labelled at all.

As a sizing reference, the person who is modelling them is usually a modern size 8, with measurements of 32D - 28" - 38".

Computer tablet, $60

"Bamboo" tablet by Wacom. Comes with mini-USB cable, stylus & stand, mouse, tablet, driver CD (not pictured).

Great for budding artists.

Asking $60.

Kenmore 27-stitch sewing machine, $170

27-stitch, 1-step buttonhole.

Sturdy metal innards -- I've sewn through 5 layers of thick denim with this without a hiccup.

It has been very well taken care of. Sorry, no manuals, but they can be found at http://www.managemylife.com/mmh/owner_manuals?intcmpMMHxG_HomexServices_Menu.

Bought a few years ago for $300 + tax. I'll also throw in some of my sewing notions where I can find them, threads, extra bobbins, oil for the machine, extra feet, measuring tape, etc.

Asking $170.

Vintage iron patio set, $120

One table and three chairs, solid metal, painted green. They are heavy, but can fold.

These are very sturdy, unlike a lot of patio furniture I've sat in that seems like it would collapse if you looked at it wrong. Will probably last decades with refinishings every now and then.

Asking $120.

Solid maple dresser, $90

Recently refinished with natural veneer. Hand-made in Ontario out of solid maple.

Asking $90.

Vintage desk lamp, $5

Very cute, brass, vintage desk lamp. $10.

Ikea floor lamp + reading light with dimmer, $25

Top light can be dimmed, bottom reading light is on/off. They don't seem to carry this model anymore, but I recall it being in the $60 range.

Asking $25.

Long black Ikea desk, $75

Particle board with ebony wood veneer, 2m by 60cm. Five silver legs for extra support. This is a perfect size for two people who don't need a huge amount of to share, or for one person who likes a long desk for extra workspace.

Similar to the set-up pictured here: http://www.ikea.com/ca/en/catalog/products/S19885496.

Desk has small spot of damage in one corner from moving, see below (see mouse for scale):

Asking $75.
